For those who don’t know the city, it has a fantastic
music, food and cultural scene. On the west coast of
Scotland, it is less than an hour’s drive to some of
Scotland’s most beautiful beaches and mountains. It
is also an incredibly proud and friendly city – with
some of the best Scottish hospitality and ‘patter’ (chat).

This is a hard one, but it would have to be Cail
Bruich – only one of two Michelin-starred
restaurants in Glasgow. It has a fantastic tasting
menu that puts a modern twist on some Scottish
classics. If you’re ever in the city, treat
yourself to a meal there.

Since moving to Scotland, I’ve loved spending
weekends exploring the country’s amazing landscapes
– from lochs to munros (mountains) and everything
in between. There is nothing like that sense of
achievement looking down from the top of a
snow-capped mountain on a stunning day.

I would love to see more of Asia. I’ve been lucky
to have visited Thailand and Japan but would love
to see more of the continent. The food, landscape,
language and cultural differences are so intriguing
and exciting. That said, I’d also love to do a road
trip down the west coast of the USA – but that might
be more for the sun, sea and surfing!

When I first moved to Scotland in 2020, there
remained lots of rules around social distancing,
with many in-door venues still required to be
closed. In Spring 2021, I organized a city-wide
Spring Clean in Glasgow that saw hundreds of
people tidying up their local parks, roads and
community areas.

In total, we lifted over 1000 bags of rubbish
and were featured in national newspapers and on
TV. It was a great sense of achievement and
opportunity to get people together again
(safely) outside.
